Cycas revoluta ist eine der weitverbreitetsten Cycadaceae Art auf Deutsch Palmfarn und stammt noch aus der Dinosaurier Zeit.
Der Blattaustrieb erfolgt jährlich einmal es können durchaus 2 bis 3 Jahre vergehen, mit dem Alter und der Größe wird die Menge der Farnartigen Blätter bestimmt.
Die ausgerollten Blattwedel sind anfangs sehr weich, empfindlich und werden mit der Zeit dunkelgrün und hart.
Die Blättchen sind sehr schmal ca.5mm breit und bis zu 10cm lang und sitzen am Blattstiel zweiseitig angeordnet der anfangs 1/6 mit kleinen Stacheln bewachsen ist.
Es gibt bei dieser Art zwei geschlechtliche, die weiblichen bekommen eine Blühten Krone mit zahlreichen rotbraunen Samen und die Männchen bekommen zwei wie Maiskolben ähnlichen Samenständen.
Die Stämme sind anfangs eine braune kleine Zwiebel und werden mit einem sehr langsam wachsenden Alter bis zu einem Durchmesser von ca. 50cm dick.
Diese sind auf der Oberfläche sehr rau und können nach einer Blühte sich Teilen, oftmals auch in 3-4 Ästen bzw. Köpfe.

Cycas revoluta is one of the most common type Cycadaceae cycad in German and dates back to the dinosaur age.

Cycas revoluta is easy to grow for residential areas and in the garden.
