Diese neu eindeckte Trachycarpus Art wächst in Manipur im Himalaya Gebirge Indiens zur Grenze von Burma auf 3500m Höhe und ist außerordentlich Winterhart.
Sie ist erkennbar mit Ihrem geraden, Kahlen und glatten Stamm der im Jungen Alter etwas kriechend wirkt. Sie ist ähnlich wie T. princeps und T. takil, ihre Blätter sind auf der Oberseite dunkelgrün und die Untere Seite weislich bis Silbern die erst mit einem gewissen Alter von ca. 5-6 Jahren sichtlich wird.
Die Blattkrone ist mit Blättern üppig bestückt jedoch mehr als bei T. takil oder T. princeps.
Die Blattstiele sind dunkelgrün, dünn und lang.
